HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SUNGLASSES
The sun is shining and summer is finally on. But finding the perfect pair of shades isn’t always that easy. Well, of course you have a bit more space to play while choosing sunglasses compared to regular glasses, but still you can easily be confused by the range of styles and shapes. And even the smartest frames don’t fit and look great on all faces. Unfortunately.
Therefore you need to choose carefully, when buying a new pair of shades. But if you choose a pair that compliment your face, you will immediately step up your style game to a whole other level. And the best tip that we can give you is, that you should choose a shape that’s the opposite than the shape of your face.
Unsurprisingly we love sunglasses. Especially the more iconic ones in terms of shapes and styles. Therefore we have focussed on 3 of the most iconic silhouettes and shapes, and found our favorites in the different categories. And there are definitely something for everyone.
The Aviator: Round faces
Property of the US Air Force and created to make the conditions better for the pilots. Now, often connected to Tom Cruise in the iconic Topgun movie from 1986.
But most importantly, it’s hard to go wrong with a classic pair of aviators in terms of great style. The silhouette is iconic and just as cool on the ground as it was in the air. We love to wear them while wearing a suit. Somehow it’s just a cool and a rock’n’rolled twist. Justin O’Shea is a master of rocking the aviators..
This style is especially great for guys with round faces. The semi-angular shapes will be the perfect fit.
The Round silhouette: Square faces
This is maybe the coolest and most versatile style. If we should continue in the world of movies, the round sunglasses are often connected to Jean Reno i Léon from 1994. The round shapes often adds a retro look to your face. But at the same time you look pretty sophisticated while wearing a round pair of shades.
The round silhouette goes especially well for square faces, but are versatile. Remember, you don’t necessarily need to go full John Lennon-style.
The Square silhouette: Oval faces
Compared to the styles above, wearing a pair of square sunglasses – especially with thick frames like the Moncler style below – are often more of a statement. Usually the square sunglasses just stand out a bit more than the round or aviator shapes. That means you should pick them even more carefully to make sure, that it looks like you are wearing the sunglasses and not the other way around.
If you have an oval or also round face shape, square frames will add the perfect contrast to your soft curves.
