The style icon Sergei Sviatchenko and his son, the footballer Erik Sviatchenko, have designed an exclusive collection in collaboration with AN IVY. The collection takes its aesthetic starting point in the distinctive approach to wardrobe classics that have made Close Up and Private one of the most revolutionary art projects on the international fashion scene in the last few decades.

Since 2009, the artist and fashion legend, Sergei Sviatchenko has left his marks on the Danish and international fashion scene with his blog project Close Up and Private. In collaboration with his son, Erik Sviatchenko, CUAP has defined a refreshing new style movement with its roots in classical menswear interpreted in a way that is both up-to-date and distinct. Additionally, Close Up and Private has started a revolution within fashion photography with a radical visual language and a unique and abstract way of photographing the details of the clothes.
Now, Close Up and Private are ready to jump into an exclusive design collection that adds another dimension to their universe. This time in collaboration with the emerging Danish brand AN IVY.

“We (CUAP and AN IVY, red.) have been on a long journey together. Nikolaj and Alexander from AN IVY have followed CUAP from its beginning and we have an exclusive connection in terms of style and aesthetics that has evolved over time. I am very happy that we can now add a professional layer to our relation with this limited collection,” Sergei Sviatchenko says.
The collection is called ‘The Splash’ and is built around the concept that all items can be mixed and matched. It consists of two new interpretations of classic shirts with a round club collar in an Oxford quality and a button-down collar in a striped poplin – both inspired by some of Sergei Sviatchenko’s favorite shirts from his personal collection.
Furthermore, the collection includes five narrow ties with striped, dotted and club-inspired designs in which the CUAP-logo is integrated, as well as two bow ties in an artistic silhouette that Sergei Sviatchenko encourages Danish and international men to incorporate in their everyday wardrobe on equal terms with the shirt and tie.

"We have carefully curated and designed the styles of the collection inspired by the 50s and 60s. It’s a mix of inspiration from John F. Kennedy’s Election Campaign from 1960 and David Hockney from the time he did the ‘The Splash’, 1966. It’s a unique project with focus on the small details that is a passion of ours,” Sergei Sviatchenko explains. He refers to the collars and the fit on the shirts and his ‘Etiquette For The Modern Classicist’, a manifest of dressing that can be read on the inside labels on the collection’s shirts.
“Sergei Sviatchenkos tireless and uncompromising approach to men’s fashion – and his personal style as a modern classicist – has been a huge inspiration for both Nikolaj and I in more than a decade. With this collaboration, we have designed nine styles that harmonize perfectly with the style of Sergei Sviatchenko that has made him Denmark’s, or quite frankly the world’s, best dressed man,” emphasizes Alexander Gram, co-founder of AN IVY.
“AN IVY is a new generation of modern classicists and I am very happy to pass on the baton and develop this direction of style even more with them,” Sergei Sviatchenko rounds off.
The collection launches in limited quantities 7th of October – on Sergei Sviatchenko’s 68-year old birthday. CUAP x AN IVY will be sold exclusively on an-ivy.dk and in selected stores.
