THE TIES THAT NICK WOOSTER PAIRS WITH HIS OXFORD SHIRTS
Perhaps one of the best dressed men in the world. This is how he wears an Oxford Shirt and a tie.
When it comes to style inspiration we look at a large number of people. But if we should determine these people’s ability to dress on the number of times we have Googled their names, Nick Wooster would probably be on the top of our list. The man who got famous after the legendary street style photographer, Tommy Ton snapped a photo of him during New York Fashion Weeks a number of years ago – a photo that indeed went viral. Mr. Wooster masters many different types of style. From high-end street wear to neat pinstripe suits. Obviously we tend to look at the latter. And we can thank him a lot for the fact that we just launched our own Oxford Shirts. Because he – of all – really introduced us to these shirts and showed just how cool they are. About the Oxford Shirts Mr. Wooster once said to Mr. Porter: “I always wear an Oxford Shirt in either blue or white”. So which ties does he tend to pair these with? Well, lets have a look.
White Oxford + Navy Knit Tie
Most often, you find Mr. Wooster rocking a White Oxford Shirt. Obviously due to its versatility as it can be paired with just about anything. And this combo right here is one we really dig – the White Oxford Shirt paired with the solid navy knit. It’s timeless, it’s simple, but it’s everything but boring. If you are ever in doubt about what tie to go for when wearing this shirt just pick your solid navy knit. Problem solved.
White Oxford + Grey Wool Tie
Well, so how does Nick Wooster wear the Oxford Shirt during winter? Well, it’s rather simple. He simply adds a grey wool tie that compliments the White Oxford brilliantly. Oh – and we got our own Herringbone Wool Tie that looks a lot like the one on the photo. Guess what combo we go for tomorrow?
Striped Oxford + Red-Toned Tie
We must admit that we do not wear a red-toned tie very often. But Mr. Wooster makes a pretty solid argument to why we should start to consider this. Especially paired with the lightblue-striped shirt. And when we do – trust us, we will – we will keep it simple with a navy blazer like Wooster does here.
Striped Oxford + Polka Dots
You don’t think you can mix and match different patterns together? Think again. Something we have argued for a long time now, and luckily Wooster agrees. We really feel this combination – a striped shirt paired with a polka dotted tie. Great way to play a bit with people’s OCD, we guess?
Blue Oxford + Solid Dark Tie
The great thing with the Blue Oxford Shirt is the fact that you can pair just about tie to it – in terms of both colors and patterns. So one might forget the plain simple combination: a solid tie paired with the simple shirt. Due to the pale color of the shirt think about adding some contrasting colors like a solid dark tie. Think black, dark navy or dark grey. It works!
