Finding a place to eat in Copenhagen is not difficult. The city is perfect for food-lovers from all over the world. There are several Michelin-started restaurants out there and even more Michelin-recommended ones. Likewise there are lots of great places that goes under the radar. And this is why it can be so challenging to actually know which restaurants to try. Spending most of the summer in Copenhagen we eaten our way through the city. These are the three restaurants that stands on the top of our list currently:

Created by Noma, Barr is a non-formal restaurant and bar concept situated in Noma’s former building. The food is inspired by the kitchen from the northern part of Europe and you can find dishes from Belgian Waffles with yoghurt and crab to Schnitzel. They explore and honor the traditions coming from this type of kitchen while still being creative and using the most delicious ingredients one could imagine. While everything is amazing, we would highly recommend the schnitzel. We could honestly eat this every single week.

There are many Italian restaurants in Copenhagen. But there are also many of those that sucks to be completely honest. But we have found our favorite one. Mangia, it’s called. Located in a small and cozy side-street very close to Vesterbro Torv. The interior and decoration is rather simple and a little boring. But don’t let that get to you – the food and wine, the two most important things when choosing a restaurant – is simply amazing. You can get a tasting menu with fem courses for just 375 DKK. Likewise is the wine-prices actually rather fair compared to the normal Copenhagen price-point.

Among the best Mexican restaurants in the world. But don’t take our words for it. Take all the other food critics almost standing in line to praise Sanchez. If the name rings a bell, it’s because the restaurant is formed around the other incredible succesfull concept, Hija de Sanchez. This restaurant is a bit more formal than Hija de Sanchez though. Likewise, the menu-card got a bit more variety. The tasting menu is just 375 DKK which isn’t much thinking about the food you get without having to buy an expensive flight-ticket to Mexico.
